1. Exfoliate regularly

One of the simplest ways to have a smooth face free of pimples is to exfoliate. You are likely to have acne and pimples when the pores on your skin get clogged with dead skin and bacteria. So, you should keep your skin clean if you want to prevent acne.

Wash your face regularly to remove dead skin and bacteria. You can use different ingredients like glycolic and lactic acids that work perfectly to remove dead skin from your face and prevent clogged pores. Additionally, you can use retinol to treat acne and increase your cell turnover by revealing new and healthier skin.

2. Clean your beddings

Another reason you could be having pimples on your skin is that your face comes into contact with dirty surfaces most of the time. You are not likely to realize this. You want to ensure your beddings are always clean if you want to prevent acne and pimples.

Wash and disinfect your beddings and other surfaces regularly if you want to maintain a clean and bacteria-free slate. Keep all your bed sheets, sunglasses, and makeup brushes clean. Your sunglasses can get greasy from sunscreen and become culprit to pimples in the summer. Also, while cleaning dirty surfaces, you want to ensure you don’t touch your face with dirty hands.

3. Watch what you eat

What you eat plays a big role in your skin tone. Your skin is a true reflection of what gets into your body. Some foods can trigger acne and pimples, while others can keep your skin smooth all the time. Eating the right food restores your gut and reduces the risk of developing inflammations and healthy gene expressions.

When you stick to refined grains, dairy products, and glycemic foods, you are more likely to develop acne. Wine and cocktails can also lead to pimples. Alcohol converts the sugar in your body and sets off the inflammatory cascade, contributing to acne skin.

4. Don’t stress yourself

You may just be free of acne and pimples when you are past your puberty. However, sometimes they still show up on your face, and what contributes to this is the change in hormones and being stressed.

A stress-induced pimple will show up on your face as a big pimple in the middle of your forehead or even chin. It could also show up as hormonal acne, which normally shows along the jaw line where there highest concentration of oil glands with hormonal receptors.

5. Wash your face after working out

After working out, you should not allow that sweat to dry on your face. Wash your face with clean water or take a cold shower if you can. Sweat that sticks on your face may contain acne-causing bacteria. You want to get rid of this as soon as you are out of the gym. You can also try using benzoyl peroxide in the shower to wash your back.

When you are out of the shower, you should only use sunscreens and moisturizers meant for the face only. Shop for products made of hyaluronic and glycerin. Your moisturizer should be labeled non –comedogenic, meaning it doesn’t cause acne on your face.
